annual Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade celebration
The 84th annual Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade airs at 9 a.m. on NBC on Thursday, November 25.
This tradition is considered by many to be the official start of the holiday season. Approximately 3.5 million people watch the parade on television every year.
Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade 2010 route starts at 77th Street and Central Park West, going South on Central Park West. The crowd of marching bands, floats, and performance groups will then turn east onto Central Park South. When the parade reaches 7th Avenue, it will turn South at the corner of Central Park South and march to 42nd Street. It will then travel east along from 7th to 6th Avenues. At 6th Avenue, the Parade will then go South and march to 34th Street. At 34th Street, it will then veer West to Herald Square and will finally end at 34th Street and 7th Avenue.
For sure, kids will enjoy this great parade from Macy’s. For those who want to get a great view of the Thanksgiving Day parade, Macy’s recommends to arrive as early as 7am to get a great viewing location along the parade route. Happy Thanksgiving Day 2010 to all!
