The world's most expensive painting ever auctioned in the UK will now be exhibited for the first time.
Paintings by Pablo Picasso made in 1932 inspired by Marie-Therese Walter and named Nude, Green Leaves and Bust.
Who succeeded in selling the painting in New York with a price Rp935 billion will be exhibited at the Tate Modern in London.
"I am very pleased that there would be kind enough to lend these paintings and we can show them in public for the first time," said Tate director Nicholas Serota, as reported by the BBC on Monday (03/07/2011).
The painting is on loan from a collector who does not want to mention his identity.
Exhibition space had now been prepared with high security to prevent theft and vandalism.
Picasso first met with Walter that a model in 1927 and eventually became his wife. Picasso finally started painting the picture four years later.
Walter eventually died in 1977, four years after Picasso's death
