Through
their
personal
pages, TV on the Radio with sadness to announce
that one of
its personnel
had just
passed away. Their bass player, Gerard Smith, yesterday
(20 / 4) died at the age of
34
years
because of
lung
cancer
suffered.
"We feel very sad to announce the news of the death of our beloved friend, Gerard Smith, due to lung cancer. Gerard died this morning, April 20, 2011. We feel very lost," writes the TV on the Radio via their official website. The band was working with music legend David Bowie was also canceled several upcoming concert schedule.
Lung cancer suffered by Gerard already been diagnosed since March yesterday. Through its official page, TV on the Radio revealed that Gerard actually will not be included in their tour because the disease is completely cured.
