Death toll to 347 The Water Festival : global news

"The victim was killed while 347 people, while 394 were injured. Before the death toll was 339 people," said Deputy Prime Minister Sok An, Tuesday (23/11/2010).

More than two million people are estimated to attend the water festival, which suck up the attention of the community.

Water Festival was held for three days on the island of Koh Pitch. This festival has a main attraction of traditional boat races along the Tonle Sap River.

The panic going on that make people pushing and fell from a bridge connecting the island with the mainland was Cambodia.

Panic increasingly out of control when the crowd of visitors are trying to save themselves.

Many were passed out, then fell and were trampled to death. "The atmosphere is really chaotic and scary," said So Cheata, eyewitnesses.

"The bridge is very crowded. They jostle, jump each other, overlap each other. Hundreds of people lay wounded," he added.
